Phoenix Nest

Here, in this soft shell,
Love makes a moving nest.
Travels many roads
Desert, mountain, ocean, wood
One embrace.
Each foray, each encounter,
Wild wings beat this heart.

Explores home
In the eyes of the world
Gliding gentle friend’s breeze
Soaring mentors’ clear skies
Battered by falsehood’s storms
Hidden behind fantasy’s clouds
Yet resting in its own heart
Tenderness

Takes wing into the sun,
Into the mouth of the dragon
Again and again
Burning
Burning away the false
Burning away the nest
Burns away the flame itself

And the radiant phoenix
Incorrigible, undeniable, undaunted,
Love flies free.
